In Memory of Catherine Roberts It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Roberts, retired CEO of Community Choice Credit Union on April 26, 2024. Catherine's departure marks a tremendous loss for Community Choice and the credit union movement at large. As a visionary leader, her contributions were pivotal in shaping the success and values of our credit union. Catherine served as the CEO of Research Federal Credit Union and then Community Choice, where her leadership was instrumental. She was a trailblazer, recognized as the first woman to serve on the World Council of Credit Unions Board of Directors, and honored as one of Crain’s Detroit Business's Most Influential Women. More than her professional achievements, Catherine was revered for her compassionate leadership and commitment to empowering communities financially. She continued to influence the industry through her consultancy, InFUSION Group, and remained an active participant in credit union initiatives post-retirement. Catherine was not only a leader but also a mentor, parent, and friend who instilled the spirit of servant leadership in all who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her enduring legacy and commitment to making a difference. The Community Choice Foundation will honor Catherine's memory by continuing to award the Catherine Roberts Scholar to students who demonstrate her exemplary leadership and dedication. We invite you to join us in reflecting on Catherine's monumental impact and to honor her by advancing the mission she so passionately pursued.
